How it Works?
Sharing City Seoul
Sharing City Seoul is made in collaboration by various parties. Seoul Metropolitan Government develops and implements various policies that provide the foundation for the sharing city initiative while sharing companies and organizations share their expertise and join hands in many collaborative projects. ShareHub promotes the value of sharing to citizens through its online and offline channels and connects the city government, companies, and citizens all together.

Building a foundation for Sharing City
In 2012, Seoul Metropolitan Government declared to become Sharing City and focused on building infrastructure. It enacted the Ordinance on the Promotion of Sharing and set up an advisory committee that would help improve related laws and institutions. It added sharing city to the list of categories for the gu disrict incentive system so that shared its own resources; it opened dormat spaces and made its data available to the public.

Collect, Connect, and Spread
“Sharing” means using your things with others and is not a new concept. However, when sharing meets cities, it needs interpretation, engagement, and connection. Share Hub project was initiated for that purpose. Seoul Metropolitan Government and C.O.D.E (former CC Korea) signed a partnership to run Share Hub and to carry out various experiments to promote sharing culture in our society.

Create Value Together
Seoul designated a total of 64 sharing enterprises and organisations from 2013 to 2015 (2016’s list will be updated). While the designated enterprises and organisations have done sharing activities on their own, some of them worked together with Seoul Metropolitan Government and/or gu district offices in Seoul on a joint project. Seoul Metropolitan Government and sharing companies went beyond a clientcontractor relationship to work more closely with each other as a business partner.
